THE ASK  

Provide Puma Hoops with full production support for a stills photoshoot that was centered around the release of Deandre Ayton’s new line of basketball shoes. The shoes themselves are designed to honor Deandre’s dual Jamaican and Bahamian heritage.

INSIGHT

The people at Now-A-Days had a rough concept that our team needed to flesh out further. That concept being a clash between the practicality of the shoe design to make you a better basketball player and the wave of a sail off the shores of Kingston. The wavy design of the sneakers needed to match the background in a surreal way.

APPROACH

We put together a rockstar collaboration of talented individuals for this production. When it came to art direction, we went full send with a modern approach that captured the surrealist vibe they were hoping to walk away with. With our technical team locking in great lighting exposure and capture execution, it was a recipe for success.

THE CHALLENGE

Coordinating the right people and place to pull off a vision that would not only represent Puma Hoops and Deandre Ayton well, but ourselves as a company. Starting with only a simple drawing of a vague concept, our team needed to dig in and figure out how to realize the vision and bring it to life in a physical set.

CAPABILITIES UTILIZED

Full production execution was needed from studio rental and catering to set build and image capture. Our art director and their team collaborated for weeks in advance to stay on the same page and problem solve together while our production management were locking in key players and locations that could cater to the ask.
