THE ASK
Executing a national TV commercial starring an MVP sports personality. Multi-Studios, a Canadian agency, needed a trustworthy partner that had the experience and resources to pull off a smooth production on short notice.
INSIGHT
Austin Mathews is a busy guy these days, and time is money. So we had to be well prepared to capture all of the content needed within the 3 hours we had with him.
APPROACH
The concept was vague so we needed to be fluid. Multi-Studio’s creative team had pages full of copy for soundbites and a box full of props and clothes to utilize. Opting to build a unique atmosphere using graphic elements, it was decided to shoot against a green screen.

THE CHALLENGE
Like most productions, time allotment becomes the obstacle you have to work around. This meant that both agency and production teams had to be completely synced up on expectations and approach when talent walked through the door. That coupled with a limited ability to visualize the end deliverable proved to be challenging, but it resulted in a highly focused crew.

Bet99 needed a new face to vouch for Canada’s premiere sports betting app. Who better than the NHL’s MVP and someone who now resides in their homeland. They don’t need to know that it was shot in the states though. We’ll keep that a secret. Shhhh
THE IMPACT
This campaign turned out to be a short and sweet success. It was widely distributed across all social and digital platforms as well as various TV channels in Canada with :10 and:15 second spots airing around the clock. The execution we provided was critical to this commercial’s success and gave the agency a lot of content to play with in post.
