THE ASK
Challenging pursuit: Producing a cheeky National TV Commercial and directing a celebrity sports personality / influencer. Working closely with Unreasonable Studios out of Canada, it was important to them to find a well experienced production partner who could execute this size of project in an expedited timeline.
INSIGHT
As it goes when working with many famous athletes, we only had Paul Bissonnette for 6 hours to pull off 10+ different looks and capture enough content for a multitude of deliverables.
APPROACH
The Creative Team at Unreasonable Studios came to us with a solid concept for a Budweiser commercial featuring the infamous BizNasty, Canadian pro NHL hockey player Paul Bissonnette. In the spot, BizNasty would parody “Jake” from State Farm, offering Budweiser drinkers BBQ insurance.

THE CHALLENGE
When a production execution comes with a hefty number of hurdles, it kicks an “all hands on deck” mentality into gear. We hosted both Agency & Client in a fully remote production experience. Communication & attention to detail was crucial with this shoot. From start-to-finish, we were under the pressure of a 4 week timeline.

Budweiser needed to get BizNasty’s message out across Canada, getting in front of their potential BBQ insurance claimants.
THE IMPACT
This BBQ insurance campaign was deemed “out-of-the-box” and uniquely attention-grabbing. It became a viral success around a popular BBQ Holiday. Our work was distributed widely, promoting the contest across social and digital platforms with :06, :15 and :30-second videos, as well as on Spotify and OOH. The look and feel we created on set was central to this memorable and highly comical commercial spot and the heart of the promotional campaign across Canada.
